Three Out of Four People Have Experienced Acne
Many people do not understand the emotional trauma which a victim
of acne undergoes. In fact, while three of four people have experienced
acne, there is no cure. But relax, Acne can be 100% treated...and quickly!
Acne can be caused by hereditary factors, environmental factors, and
hormonal factors. Nowadays, there are a lot of
treatments available
in the market to reduce the effects of this disease. We even built
our own acne-fighting product called Tru-derma!
Teens who have a breakout of the liquid filled pustules known
as acne, succumb to its affect with loss of self-esteem, confidence,
personality and social life. It is an embarrassment. Dating becomes
a problem with partners not wanting to be seen with anyone having
the eruptions and fearing they may catch "the infection" (acne
is actually not contagious). With the loss of teenage self-confidence,
this emotional strain, in many cases, carries on through adult life.
Three out of four teenagers, in every race, have some form of acne
caused by the hormonal changes stimulating the sebaceous glands during
these years. Whiteheads or blackheads are both considered a form of
acne and may continue in minor degrees until a person reaches age 50
or more.
Each follicle contains sebaceous glands that secrete a fatty oil (sebum)
to lubricate your hair and skin. One common form of acne generally
occurs when the hair follicles in the skin become blocked by dead cells.
For a better look, check out the diagram:

Pimples are infections that grow when whiteheads split the follicle
wall. After the split, solidified sebum, dead cells, and bacteria
enter the skin. The red blemishes on the face, chest and back are
caused by the aforementioned dead cells and bacteria that invade your
skin layers. Although it is very tempting to pick or squeeze these
pimples, the secretion from the inflammation is highly contagious.
Picking or squeezing pimples spreads the infection to other locations
of your face, back, or chest when you touch those uninfected spots
with your fingers that are carrying the germs. Not all follicle ruptures
surface and become visible. At times infections remain within your
skin and form a boil-like infection and become acne cysts.
These cysts are
the main culprits of scarring and if picked or squeezed cause deeper
scarring.

Sometimes the material secreted by the sebaceous gland does not break
the skin but forms a lump known as a sebaceous cyst. Unless the cyst
becomes infected there is no pain or discoloration.
Adult female acne is common between 20 and 30 and is mostly due to
stress and environment pollution. Some research studies have found a
direct link that acne is caused due to stress. Women who sunbathe were
also found to have aggravated skin problems. Oil based makeup was also
found to be the reason for blackheads among women. Another contributor
to acne was dehydration, as more water intake means no dehydration and
rejuvenated skin. Poor blood circulation was another factor contributing
to acne and skin diseases. Proper exercise and helpful breathing techniques
were found to keep the skin fresh and free from acne.
The problem is not just limited to women, even adult men get infected
with acne and it is estimated that around 50% of the adult population
have mild acne and problems with oily skin.
